If one can recall the lovely drive we took to get up north over Memorial day weekend, one would think that we might have the common sense NOT to try to make the same trip with a bored, fussy, constantly teething baby in tow over Labor Day weekend.
One might think that, but one would be wrong.
A five hour trip that should take 4? eh, no problem. Who doesn't love a 5 hour car ride with a baby, a dog, and a husband who feels that every other driver must be cussed out for their stupidity and lack of aggressive driving skills. How do these assholes have licenses???!!! In his eyes, 80 mph is the new 60 mph. That's right grandpa, move your ass!
Liscious basically just starts screaming when he is in a car for too long. And by too long, I mean about 20 minutes. I am sure it is because he is bored, frustrated, and covered in Labrador slobber, and no matter what toys we offer, funny noises and faces we try to make, the screaming doesn't stop. And getting him to take a nap in the car? Oh, those were the good ol' days. I remember those days...they lasted about 3 months. Ah memories....
Anyhow. I love to scream along with Liscious in the car. Screaming is the new baby Karaoke don't cha know. Oh but don't worry. The screaming and constant throwing/ avid rejection of toys does nothing to my nerves. Nothing at all. It would NEVER make me run from the car, sobbing and pulling my hair out upon pulling into the driveway of the cottage. No sir-ee. Not one bit. Looking forward to the drive today. Can't fuckin' wait.
Grandma and Grandpa better have serious booze in that cottage. That's all I got to say.
Have a great holiday weekend!! See ya next week sometime!

I'm dying to know how your drive was!
